Looking for any information about my greatgrandfather, Josephus Murphy, (of whom very little is known) who presumably immigrated from Ireland, to Beechworth,(Ovens) Victoria, Australia,( early 1850's)He was known to be on the ship "Jane" in 1853 in Australian waters.Travelled to South Canterbury, New Zealand ,in 1860, settling in the town of Pleasant Point. He was married to Catherine Westly? Occupation unknown. Siblings Rupert and John.
Can anyone assist please, as many searches have proved unsuccessful. Any information much appreciated.

Looking for information about my great-great grandfather, John M. Bowes or his wife, Jane. A cabinetmaker, born in Maine in 1825, he came to Montana in late 1850's. Worked as a carpenter in Helena for some time, then was operating as a building contractor in Butte in mid 1870's. Also ran a furniture store and provided coffins and funeral services, at least thru late 1880's. Was active in Butte civic affairs; treasurer of IOOF and of the 1st Fire Company in Butte. Wife having died and health failing, he returned to his daughter's home in Lincolnville, Maine, where he died in 1900. Any further information would be greatly appreciated.
